Today we took three young students from the lunch program shopping with their moms.  Their sponsors had sent money with me to give to them and so we went to the mall.  First, we took them to the mall grocery store because it was early and we felt the crowds would be less.  Wrong!  So many people!  They bought food and big bags of rice and then we all stood forever in the check out lines!  We also went to a stores downtown that has less expensive goods.  They really felt that the money they were given would go further there.  They bought school bags, school paper and notebooks, school uniforms and shoes.  Everyone had a good time.  We headed to the Garden Cafe run by the deaf and had lunch.  It has a Montana theme because the head of the deaf organization is from Billings.  Everyone had a great time their too.  They have a plaster horse with a real saddle on it so the kids all got to “ride” the horse.  It was fun taking them shopping and they were all so appreciative.  Thank you sponsors for making their day!

Tomorrow Vicky, Mark Jay and I will be figuring how many more students we need to take pictures of for the feeding program.  Wednesday we meet at the school with the parents and try to weigh as many of the feeding program children who may come to the school.  Parents are busy this week cleaning the school since school starts June 1st.

Blessings, Ellen
