First Work Day – Thursday

Our first full day on Bohol, the team did some scouting and planning and shopping for supplies, as well as catching up with old friends.

We found our friend Patricia as soon as we arrived in Balilihan. It was so great to see her smiling face and joyful presence, but she has had a cough for 3 weeks and has lost her voice so please pray for her return to health!

Next we checked in with the “angels” Analyn, Angelyn and their family. Brother Alpon showed us his best friend – with feathers!

Next stop was the “siblings” new home! Essencio was there to greet us and give us the tour. It is a beautiful home that will serve the 3 disabled brothers and sister well. They love it!

Around 3:00 we visited the Calunasan Sur elementary school…. always one of our favorite places to be! Bella entertained the children by showing them pictures of horses (of course!) and playing a game of tag. She looks like a blonde giant among the precious Filipino children. Many of the children gave her some paper stars they have been making, and this morning two children were outside the house waiting to give her an especially fancy paper star, with tassels that they made last night. They are so generous despite having so little.

Debi was able to meet her sponsored daughter Priscella. What a wonderful feeling!
