Partnering with MRM (MT Rescue Mission)

The Montana Rescue Mission has been serving and caring for individuals and families since the 1940’s. The MRM comes alongside the poor and the homeless by providing temporary housing, emergency care, job training, and rehabilitation services. MRM does this through the women’s and families shelter, men’s shelter, mobile outreach, community outreach, and bargain centers.

This last summer we began to connect with Vern Turner, the director of MRM Bargain centers, about a project on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation. After meeting Vern and continuing to discuss how we might partner together to minister to the most vulnerable members of Montana I suggested that Montana On a Mission and the Big Timber Evangelical Church work together to collect needed items for the bargain centers.

Items needed most at this time are: Books, Housewares/Kitchen Appliances, Linens, Clothing, especially men’s and large sizes, Winter Coats, Socks and Gloves, Good, Clean Furniture, Beds, Collectibles and Antiques

The Montana Rescue Mission is sending a truck to Big Timber on November 12th. We hope to update you on how this project goes soon and look forward to partnering with MRM in other ways. If you want to know more about this project, please contact us today!
