Hello, greetings from Bohol :-)
After 3 days, 4 flights, 1 outfit, many hours of layover and few hours of sleep, our missions team arrived safely Friday shortly after noon. All 13 of us enjoyed the view and experience of riding in a jeepney. So far we have toured the barrio, started our painting project on the elementary school and had many hilarious bloopers to keep the laughter rolling. It is never a dull moment with our group. As we started the painting project on the school, it looked like a never ending job at first, but with great team work and effort, we were nearly done with 2 of the 4 buildings in the first day. Melonie received the opportunity to experience medical attention first hand after cutting her foot on some rusted metal. They gave her a shot and bandaged her up and she is well on her way to recovery. We were approached by the school kids who were curious as to what we Americans were up to and built quick friendships throughout the day. I have to share the cutest thing that just made my day. As I was handing out water to a small group, one little girl sneezed. I turned and said "God Bless you" to which another little girl turned and in the sweetest sincere voice replied "you too". It was adorable. We have been blessed in so many ways on this trip already that I could go on for a long while, but now it is time to go fellowship and experience a new church style. So on that note have a blessed and wonderful day.
