In Kenya we built relationships with the most genuine and wonderful people, as well as realized the hardships that they fight and overcome every day. I was blessed with the opportunity to be able to spend two weeks with tribal leaders, the Kenyan governor, and some fantastic kids. I was truly immersed in their culture, especially because of how the children sang, danced, and played games with us. We also experienced culture in the form of food, music, and church, not to mention we got to see some incredible animals. We helped develop a water project and did some missionary work as well. Overall it was a lifechanging experience, and I can’t wait to be involved in more trips like it.
I think the biggest takeaway I will have from this trip are all the amazing relationships I built with the people. These relationships don’t just include the wonderful people in Kenya, but also the amazing people I shared the experience with. I know this trip has forever changed me, and I will never look at the world the same way again.
